As a Minnesota wedding photographer, I’ve had the honor of capturing many love stories, but Priscilla and Jack’s elopement at their cabin in Webster, Wisconsin, was one I won’t forget.
I set off from Minneapolis, making the peaceful drive to their family’s cabin, surrounded by towering trees and the soft ripple of the lake nearby. It was a place filled with meaning, a retreat that had witnessed their love grow over the years. Now, it was about to hold one of the most important moments of their lives.

Before the ceremony, Priscilla and Jack shared a first look—one of the most emotional ones I’ve ever photographed. As Priscilla stepped toward Jack, the anticipation in the air was almost tangible. When he turned around, his eyes filled with tears, and she couldn’t hold hers back either. It was raw, beautiful, and everything I love about elopements.

A Lakeside Ceremony Surrounded by Love
The ceremony was held on a hill overlooking the lake, with just a handful of their closest family members—and their two tiny white, fluffy dogs—witnessing their vows. As they exchanged heartfelt promises, Priscilla’s tears fell freely, and Jack gently wiped them away. The love between them was undeniable.
Golden Hour & A Cozy Celebration
As the sun began to dip behind the trees, we wandered back to the lakeside for some sunset portraits. There’s something magical about that golden light—it wrapped around them, illuminating their joy in the most breathtaking way.
The evening ended with a cozy bonfire and s’mores, laughter filling the air as they shared stories with their family. A warm dinner at their cabin followed, filled with clinking glasses and heartfelt toasts. It was simple, yet perfect—a celebration that truly reflected who they are.
